Frequently asked questions

What should I wear?

We want you to feel comfortable, so wearing a loose-fitting shirt and loose pants or shorts is preferable. Often you may be asked to remove some items of clothing for assessment or treatment, but if you prefer to keep all clothing items on that is fine, we will always check in to confirm what you are most comfortable with.

Do I need a referral?

No, you can make a direct appointment with an Osteopath without a referral. However, if you are wanting to utilise a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM), these will require a referral from your GP, so it’s a good idea to discuss this with them prior to the appointment.

How do I cancel/ reschedule my appointment?

You will be sent a link after you have booked via email, this will allow you to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Alternatively, you can send an email or call reception on 0407 673 734. Please allow at least 24 hours’ notice before your appointment to make any changes to avoid late cancellation fees.

What conditions do you treat?

Osteopaths treat a variety of musculoskeletal injuries or pain. These may include:

  • Neck pain & headaches

  • Back & hip pain

  • Sciatica

  • Shoulder injuries

  • Rib pain

  • Knee pain

  • Jaw/ TMJ pain

  • Foot, ankle and shin pain

  • Elbow & wrist pain

  • Muscle tears & strains

  • Sports injuries

Reach out if you have any questions about how Osteopathy may benefit you.

Do I need to bring anything to the appointment?

If you have any diagnostic imaging, such as an X-ray, CT, MRI or test results and reports, bring them along, or you can email them prior to your appointment for us to save to your file.

It's my first appointment, do I need to do any paperwork?

When you book your first appointment, you’ll be emailed an online form with questions about what you are currently seeking treatment for, your medical and family history as well as some questions about your lifestyle. This allows us to have a really good understanding of your overall health, and to create a management plan that is individualised to what your body needs.

Can I claim with private health?

Yes, rebates are available for private health insurance companies in Australia. If you are unsure whether you have cover for Osteopathy, please check with your private health insurer before your appointment
